Perpetual Motion Machine - Is it real? Digg says yes.

POSTED BY QBert on Jan 6 under 2012, Humor, Science/Tech

A video recently published on youtube seems to demonstrate a working perpetual motion machine by arranging magnets in a certain way. We’ve heard this idea before using magnets to create a perpetual motion machine, but until now no one has been able to demonstrate a working model. Until now the only perpetual motion machine I’ve seen is Vivica Fox’s mouth in her new nasty tape that leaked (eww sorry) onto the internet…but low and behold, The OC MPMM!!!

Seems to really getting moving there doesn’t it? Can it truly move perpetually? A recent wave of people digging the original video posting led many to post to their blogs about a perpetual motion machine finally being created. Here is the critique from the youtube reposting of this video:

WHERE IS WRITTEN THAT THIS IS A PERPETUUM MOBILE, YOU IGNORANT DIGG LUNATICS?

This is a repost of the original Alsetalokin’s video showing how his implementation of overconfident’s idea looks like so far.

Please note that this is not a final product; it’s only a bit odd ‘anomaly’ observed when trying different designs during construction. No over-unity, no infinite long runs, so don’t jump into conclusions. (Although the goal is to create a perpetual motion machine, hence the MPMM abbreviation, this is not the final design yet.)

See teh internet for more info.

(The original video has been marked for private viewing only by the author, but he permitted reposting it by others.)

Well, there you have it. It appears that while 1423 people dig this story, it stands a chance of being false. A big chance. Sorry Dig Dugz. :(

I guess we see a little bit of crowd psych going on here huh? Or rather click mob pysch! A perpetual click machine. Once digg gets rolling people just click on the click wagon to click city and click the night away with all their fellow clickers. It’s clicktastic! Anything we click on can become reality. What a notion. Click reality into being. 2012 here we come.

And for the record, I Dugg the story too. I guess this is an important lesson to learn about believing everything we click. And knowing is half the battle.

hahah
